Modified Leaf of a Plant

When a leaf is changed to do more than its usual photosynthesis and transpiration, it is said to be modified. The photo above is a picture of a peculiar cactus plant. The leaves are grown in a manner so that the most water is caught; this is for survival since cacti live in arid environments. This is also a modified leaf since cacti have spikes. These spikes make it so less water is needed. Even Venus fly-traps have modified leaves intended to attract bugs.
