Epithelial Tissue

Epithelial tissue is simply the skin that covers the body and different glands. This tissue is above connective tissue, and serves as protection from invaders. It also is a place where absorption, secretion, excretion, and sensation occur. This tissue is also categorized as avascular since there are no blood vessels in it. This all makes sense since this photo is just a picture of my arm with epithelial tissue (skin). This tissue is an outer layer and covers all surfaces. This tissue is found in all types of animals.
