Cuticle Layer of a Plant

This layer of a plant is kind of the like the epithelial layer in humans. This layer protects the plant from UV radiation and is a type of water-repellent(this is why it is waxy). This picture is a cuticle layer of a plant; the fact that is looks waxy means that it has the structure to protect the plant. My Begonia has a cuticle layer.
