Amniotic Egg



An amniotic egg is the egg that reptiles, mammals, and birds use to protect/develop their young. In the photo above, the chicken’s egg is an example of an amniotic egg. The egg contains yolk that helps the “baby” grow, but in this chicken egg the “baby” is not developed. For this reason, this photo is an example of the egg in its prime state. Snake and alligator eggs are all amniotic.
